Inherently hygienic, easily cleaned and non-staining

Glass is a very practical material for use in the kitchen as it is naturally hygienic. It is non-porous so cannot harbour germs or bacteria and is also very easy to keep clean with no nasty grout lines. The end result is a smooth, glossy, seamless finish.

Easy to install with peel and stick technology

To make installation of our splashbacks as simple as possible, we manufacture them all with a self-adhesive backing which is guaranteed not to degrade. This means it is a simple procedure of peeling and sticking the splashback to the wall. Coloured glass splashbacks create virtually seamless joints and can be cut easily with a diamond tipped cutter.

Safety

IGlass standard splashbacks are made in 6mm safety backed glass. Our standard splashbacks have been rigorously tested and perform well under heat. They conform to all relevant British safety standards, (BS6206 and PREN 12600). The glass is shatterproof and is made with a safety backing to ensure glass will always remain stuck to the wall.

A.
Glass is structurally a very strong product and when installed it will take a huge impact to break (in the region of 35 Newtons of force).
Q.
Does it scratch?
A.
Yes, glass can scratch but it is resistant to most abrasive cleaners and in this particular application it is highly unlikely to scratch.
Q.
What if moisture gets behind the glass?
A.
When correctly fitted the splashback will be sealed all the way around using a small bead of silicone which will prevent moisture getting behind the glass. Due to the nature of the product, if any moisture was to get behind the glass it would not cause any problems and will not be visible from the front face.
Q.
What surfaces can they be adhered to?
A.
They can be fixed to all non-porous, dry, dust and grease free surfaces, i.e. plastered walls, gyp board, tiles, MDF and chipboard. The surface should be relatively flat, with no undulations greater than 5mm.
Q.
Who can install your standard splashbacks?
A.
No they are supplied with a high quality foam adhesive backing for ease of installation. Any kitchen fitter, tiler or expert DIY enthusiast can fit these products.
Q.
Can they be cut on site?

Yes, they can be cut with either a glass or tile cutter by the installer to fit into any rectangular shape.
Q.
Does my splashback need to be toughed if placed behind a hob?
A.
No, our standard splashbacks are fine to use, but they must be fitted with a 2mm expansion gap to allow for thermal expansion, which can be filled with silicone. They should also be fitted no closer that 50mm from the heat source and no less than 100mm from a gas burner.
Q.
How will the splashback fit around plug-sockets?
A.
Our standard 140mm upstands are designed specifically to fit underneath all power sockets. To incorporate sockets into full height splashbacks, refer to our bespoke splashback products which are measured, manufactured and installed to clients specification.
Q.
Can I drill the splash-back?
A.
Yes, it is possible to drill the glass with extreme care, using a diamond tipped spade drill.

COLOURCONSISTENT
The colour is infused at high temperature into the back of the glass surface to a depth of two microns and is four microns thick. This means that the colour is permanent and will not degrade with heat or light. Colour is applied using computer controlled batching technology ensuring consistency of colour.
hygienic_icon
HYGIENIC
The glass surface is non-porous and therefore does not support the growth of harmful bacteria. This ensures our splashbacks provide an extremely hygienic solution within such a demanding environment.
stain_icon
STAINRESISTANT
The surface is non-porous preventing any liquids or foodstuffs permanently marking it. It also provides a low maintenance surface which is easy to wipe clean.
HEATRESISTANT
Our glass has been rigorously tested and performs well behind hobs. Glass expands when heated and therefore is fitted with minimal expansion joints to allow for expansion.
